Rebecca Jackson, ITV4 Presenter and Race Driver had her third race event of the season at the weekend where she returned from Snetterton race circuit with the most wins possible. The glamorous Reading local arrived home with 2 wins and 2 fastest lap successes from the 2 BRSCC Porsche Championship races.
Despite being at Snetterton for the first time in her red Boxster, Rebecca qualified in second place and only 0.7 seconds behind grid position 1 but knew she could be quicker.
On Saturday 13th July – the hottest day of the year so far – Rebecca was wearing a full fire retardant under layer and a two layer racing suit while track temperatures rose to 60 degrees Celsius. Despite the uncomfortable heat Rebecca had an excellent start, overtaking her Class B competitor as well as a Class C car and managed to avoid 3 Class A cars which spun off in the first lap. Although Rebecca maintained her lead, there was continuous pressure with a Production Boxster Class competitor close behind. But when his engine gave out in the penultimate lap, there was nothing keeping Rebecca from race victory. An additional achievement was receiving the award for fastest lap.
Starting in Pole Position in Race 2 on Sunday, Rebecca’s speed and consistency resulted in a second race victory as well as a second award for fastest lap.
These successes have led to Rebecca Jackson now leading the BRSCC Porsche Championship by 3 points. These achievements with previous race successes at Silverstone and Zandvoort are an important part of Project Le Mans – Rebecca’s quest of racing at Le Mans in 4 years’ time.
