This weekend has been quite a relaxed one for Rebecca as she prepares for next week’s Birkett 6-Hour Relay Race at the famous Silverstone circuit.
It’s a rather special race for Rebecca as it’s one of the first races she ever visited – as a baby in a pram! – when her father was racing, not to mention the fact that it’s where she got her race licence! This time she’s going to be part of Team Turtle Wax.
The team will have loads of Turtle Wax goodies to give out on the day too!
Come along and support Rebecca and the team on Saturday 25th October. Tickets are just £10 and under-15s get in for free! For more details, check out the Silverstone website.
The end of the Cartek Roadsports Endurance Series for 2014
The last race of the season started well with a wet session that meant Rebecca got to show spectators just why they call her The Rain Queen. She was in a top three qualifying position in her Porsche.
Unfortunately, things don’t always go to plan and the weather got so bad that Rebecca had to bring her Turtle Porsche into the pits to have the windscreen cleaned. She rejoined the circuit and 3rd gear had gone by the 3rd lap, resulting in a final qualifying position of 7th.
Rebecca was determined to make up for this in the race and she was making light work of the competition up until it all went wrong.
Her race was cut short by an incident with another car and the Porsche was forced to leave the track, where it remained for the rest of the race.
It was a disappointing race for Rebecca but it didn’t affect her outlook for too long as there are plenty of other races and events to focus on.
