It all gets under way this weekend – The Bute Motorsport GT Cup

Let’s go racing!

Rebecca and her team have been gearing up for the start of the racing season and there’s a lot to look forward to. The first round is at Donington this weekend (25-26 April) and Rebecca will be driving the new Porsche 997 along with team mate Mike Seller.

With the car being so different to last year’s Boxster, testing has been so important but some things never go to plan and Rebecca has had limited seat time in the new car. Despite setbacks, she’s getting used to the sheer power of new the Porsche and is looking forward to the first round of the season.

This is a big step up for Rebecca with such a powerful car to get used to and the sequential gear box being “totally different” to what she’s been racing with in the past. Everyone is feeling positive in the run up to this first round and Rebecca can’t wait to race and really see what the Porsche can do!

The Telegraph will be closely watching all the action and you’ll be able to see updates from Rebecca in the newspaper and online. Keep an eye on Rebecca’s social media for details.

You’ve probably seen the Porsche kitted out in Turtle Wax colours, just like last year’s car. This is the first big outing for the Turtle Porsche and that green looks great on track – you certainly can’t miss it. Rebecca has also brought a number of other sponsors with her including her Project-Le-Mans-embroidered Corbeau seat, and the VBOX from last year has also been installed on the car.

Rebecca would like to thank Turtle Wax, Corbeau and VBOX as well as new sponsors Ryan Insurance for track cars and Belstaff for supporting her this year.

Donington is a great track and with all sorts of cars on the grid, it’s going to be a fantastic race weekend. Rebecca’s Porsche will be racing alongside the likes of Ferraris, Aston Martins and BMWs.

You can book tickets for the race on the Donington website from just £15 for a basic entry ticket up to £120 for full VIP and hospitality.

The Great British Land Rover Show is also happening at the track on the Sunday, so it’s a good chance to get your fix of Land Rovers during the weekend too.

Thank you to everyone for your support over the last few years and here’s to an exciting season!
