This weekend Rebecca will compete in her second MINI Challenge race, this time at Silverstone. This track is quite special to Rebecca as it’s where she took her race license and it’s also where Team Turtle Wax drove to victory in the Birkett 6-hour relay race.
Rebecca said: “Silverstone is the first ever race track I visited as a baby in my pram while my father was racing in the same race but years before and when it was invitation only.”
During the last race at Brands Hatch, Rebecca took her time getting used to the fearsome little JCW MINI. It’s a big change to go from a rear-wheel-drive car – such as a Porsche 911 cup car she drove last season or the KTM she’s currently driving in the SRO European GT Championship – to a powerful front-wheel-drive MINI.
She explained: “I must switch my thinking from rear-wheel-drive to front-wheel-drive. It’s a completely different style of driving and one that I am keen to learn! The MINI is an awesome little beast and by no means should be underestimated, despite its cute and cool looks.”
You can watch Rebecca in this little touring car on Saturday and Sunday at Silverstone. Get your tickets here.
