Rebecca joins Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus as a guest driver at Zolder

To help launch the new Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (SCG) Customer Racing Programme, Rebecca got behind the wheel of the 650bhp SCG003C at Zolder in the DMV GTC series.

This GT touring car series features drivers such as former Formula One, Le Mans and GT Championship driver Karl Wendlinger; reverse drift parallel parking Guinness World Record holder Ronny C Rock; and German GT Championship driver Andreas Simonsen.

As with any guest drive, seat time is limited but this was a fantastic opportunity for Rebecca to drive this powerful new car. She had four laps to get used to the car in practice and managed P13 in qualifying after just two laps.

During her race Rebecca quickly made up two places and was then sitting at a comfortable pace until she realised there was a car behind making an effort to catch up. Rebecca says: “I quickened my pace to ensure he stayed behind me. I lost him and could then relax to a comfortable pace again.”

Like all racing drivers, endurance racers need to think about being quick, passing cars and staying ahead but there's the added focus on not taking unnecessary risks and being able to hand the car over at the end of each stint. The car had to be passed over to SCG's factory driver for the Dunlop 60 after Rebecca's race so she had to keep it safe.

Rebecca brought the car home without a scratch in P11, a fantastic achievement considering so little seat time. She's confident that with a little more testing she'd be battling near the front.

She says: “I really enjoyed racing this car and would love to have the opportunity again in the future so I can build on what I experienced this weekend. It really is an incredible machine.”
