First Outing, First Win
The pretty red Boxster rolled on to her own wheels for the first time this season after months of preparation both in terms of securing parts and sponsorship and also in building the Production race car. The transformation from road going playful sports car to ready for victories track car has been quite astonishing.
Race one for the virgin race car was Silverstone on 11th and 12th May – a track which saw Rebecca’s first experience of motoring racing as a baby in her pram as well as the track at which she passed her ARDS test to become a competition driver and the circuit that saw her first ever race in a Porsche 924. It was very apt then that this was the circuit for its debut outing. Saturday welcomed heavy rain, another memory to call upon; Rebecca’s first victory in the Porsche Championship was in a torrential downpour at Snetterton. Carrying the title Rain Queen as she calmly overtook two cars on the outside of Copse Corner to secure the first piece of silverware for the season and a win.
Official sponsors Cheap Couriers UK and Lab Source Africa were there to witness the action which made the weekend even more enjoyable.
The next race is the 8th and 9th of June at Zandvoort, Holland.
